Kantu Baby Alpaca Sweater
The Kantu Sweater is a celebration of Andean artistry, made entirely by hand in the Andes of Peru using 100% baby Alpaca fiber from our own alpacas. Crafted in small quantities by skilled artisans, each sweater reflects generations of traditional knitting techniques and a deep respect for natural materials.
Baby Alpaca comes from the first or second shearing, when the fiber is at its finest, smoothest, and most uniform. Unlike heavier wools, baby Alpaca is naturally lightweight yet exceptionally warm. Its fibers are hollow, allowing heat to be retained when needed while releasing excess warmth—so the sweater never feels bulky or stifling. This natural thermoregulation is what makes Alpaca comfortable across changing temperatures.
Alpaca fiber also wicks moisture away from the body, helping you stay dry and comfortable throughout the day. It is naturally hypoallergenic and free from lanolin, making it an excellent choice for those with sensitive skin or who find traditional wool irritating.
Every color and motif in the Kantu Sweater is created using all-natural dyes derived from plants, roots, and herbs. Because each sweater is entirely handmade and produced in small batches, slight variations in color or pattern may occur—subtle differences that highlight the authenticity and individuality of each piece.
This is not a mass-produced garment. It is a timeless sweater made slowly, from the finest baby Alpaca, designed to be worn, appreciated, and passed on.
