Not every alpaca llama we make becomes part of our Private Selection.

Our Large Private Selection Llamas are individually handcrafted in Peru from exceptionally soft baby Suri alpaca fur that we carefully hand-select and reserve throughout the year specifically for these special pieces.

These are different from the regular Suri alpaca llamas we produce in larger quantities for select shops in Lima. Our Private Selection Baby Suri Alpaca Llamas are made in very limited numbers using some of the finest natural Suri fur available to us.

The result is more than a stuffed animal.

It is a handmade Peruvian artisan piece you have to touch to truly appreciate.

The Difference Is in the Fur

Suri alpacas are treasured for their distinctive long, silky fibers and beautiful natural texture. For our Private Selection llamas, we go a step further.

Throughout the year, we set aside exceptionally soft baby Suri alpaca fur specifically for these pieces. Each llama is then individually handmade by our artisans in Peru, with the fur carefully selected to create its unique appearance and character.

Look closely and you'll notice the variations in color, texture and the way the long Suri fibers naturally fall.

No two llamas will ever be exactly alike.

Naturally Beautiful & Easy to Care For

Alpaca fur is surprisingly easy to maintain.

For occasional freshening, gently work a small amount of baby powder through the fur and carefully brush it out. Avoid soaking or machine washing your llama.

Alpaca naturally contains no lanolin, one of the characteristics that distinguishes alpaca fiber from sheep's wool.

With simple care, the beautiful long Suri fibers can remain soft, fluffy and luxurious for years.

What makes Peruvian Accent different is that we don't simply purchase finished alpaca products from a wholesaler and put our name on them.

We are involved from the very beginning.

Working directly with our cooperative of Peruvian families, we raise alpacas, select our fiber and fur, develop our designs and work with our artisans to create the finished pieces that we then offer directly to our customers.

That connection allows us to do something unusual: when an exceptional piece of baby Suri fur comes through our hands, we can save it.

Throughout the year, we reserve those special pieces until we have enough to create our Private Selection llamas.

That's why we cannot simply make an unlimited number.

The collection is limited by the exceptional fur itself.
